The Story of Lou's Tattoos "Florida's First Tattoo Shop"

Licensed and approved by the State of Florida, Lou's Tattoos  was established in 1975 and was the first tattoo studio in Florida. Now Lou's has four family owned studios, and employees almost 20 tattoo artists.  We are members of the Florida  professional Tattoo Artists Guild, National Tattoo Association, and one of the original founders of F.P.T.A.G.  We show great pride in our studios and in our tattooing.  We also do piercing and cosmetic tattooing.  Dawn has 10 years experience in cosmetic make-up.  She was taught by her father Lou, who has been tattooing over 30 years.   Now retired, Lou Sr. got his start in the early 1950's in a house in Connecticut where Doc Green, an old sailor, taugh tattooing.  Lou notes his main influence as Buddy Mott, a free-hand tattoo artist in Rhode Island.
